Please provide the name of the initiative cause and how long have you been involved?

I have been a Rotarian since 2018 and was fortunate enough to be asked to be President in July 2022 for one of four Rotary clubs on the island, the “Rotary Club of Pembroke Bermuda”.

Why did you choose to support it?

“Service Above Self” is the motto of Rotary International; The beauty of how impactful one seemingly simple act of kindness can be is a joy to behold. There is much to do, and I am grateful I can help make a difference.”

Overall, what is the charitable organisation’s mission and how does it make a difference to the people/cause it aims to help?

Rotary International is one of the most globally prominent humanitarian and service organisations. The organisation consists of 1.4 million volunteers who are striving to fight various global issues, including but not limited to promoting peace, supporting education, and protecting the environment.

What is your specific contribution to the initiative/cause and how have you made an impact to the people/cause it aims to help?

Yanique Dale has been President of the Rotary Club of Pembroke, Bermuda, an arm of Rotary International, for the past two years. During Yaniques time with the local branch, she has given back to the community in numerous ways, including overseeing the annual children’s raffle, purchasing Christmas gifts for children in Bermuda’s foster care system, clearing invasive plant species from mangroves at Lagoon Park on Ireland Island Sands and much more.

How does your charitable involvement align with the BMA’s core values?

Involvement in charitable endeavours echoes majority of the BMA’s values.

- WE CARE: Caring about our environment, the community (people and place) in which we live, and work is the hallmark of any charitable initiative.

- We ENGAGE: with like-minded individuals here on island and around the world who STRIVE to have a sustainable impact on the lives of those around us.

- We LEARN: Rotary facilitates an individual’s pursuit of continuous improvement, be it professionally or personally. I have been given so many opportunities and be exposed to many things and people just from my involvement with the club. They also have courses one can use to elevate themselves.
